Where it started
In 2015 I started making games in Unity. The problems were playful and the feedback was immediate. You could see, in a minute, whether a thing felt right.
I studied computer science at Sudan University of Science and Technology and stayed on as a teaching assistant. The work after that got heavier without getting less hands-on. At Syber in Khartoum I shipped iOS and React Native apps through the App Store: payments, delivery, tools for merchants. I ran the code reviews and sat in the Scrum conversations that turned a client sentence into something a team could build.
Since May 2023 I have been in Sharjah. At the Department of Municipal Affairs I lead the front end of three applications for contracting and consulting on building projects, shared as private npm packages, documented in Storybook, released through GitLab. With the Digital Department I took the Civil Defence portal from Angular 14 to 18 and left a module that still generates pages.
I still play games. I still go looking for the next thing I do not know. There is usually a cat in the room.
